Meet the Mets
Baseball Prospectus released their Mets top 10 prospect list and it's an interesting one that includes 18-year old Dominican pitcher Marcos Molina in the 10th spot.
In the good news department, Sandy Alderson plans to stay on as the Mets general manager for another 2 to 3 years, despite a few years of speculation that he'd leave after his contract expired.
The Mets have a large crop of young pitching prospects in camp but does that mean they'll all turn into big league pitchers? Ken Davidoff has some quotes from Paul DePodesta regarding the organization's pitching depth. Noah Syndergaard is one of those young pitchers and he's really impressed Mets people.
Jared Diamond wrote about the Mets' campaign to get lower case letters added into the jersey lettering alphabet.
Jim Bowden reported yesterday that there are four teams in on Stephen Drew, two of them being the Mets and Red Sox. Scott Boras is apparently looking for an AAV of $14 million. Meanwhile, Jayson Stark says that the Pirates are still keeping tabs on Ike Davis' progress this spring, who the Mets are looking to jump-start with lots of at bats.
Wilmer Flores has returned from his training program and hopes that the work will help him on the field. Terry Collins says that Flores will start in order to get at bats, whether that's in New York or Las Vegas.
The Mets brought in lots of outfielders this winter, which could spell trouble for Juan Lagares' playing time. For some reason, Terry Collins believes Eric Young Jr can manage a .350 OBP. Hey, if he can do it great but I wouldn't bet any vital organs on it. Collins also wants you to remember Kirk Nieuwenhuis. How can we forget? He used to play football!
Around the Majors

At Sports On Earth, Eno Sarris asks if we can predict injuries for pitchers like Yu Darvish.
Ex-Met Tim Byrdak took to Twitter to try to find himself a job for this spring.
Ben Badler passes along video of an chaotic brawl that took place in Cuba yesterday.
