Meet the Mets

Ken Davidoff writes that the Mets loan restructuring shows that the team's finances are beginning to heal.

The Mets announced the signing of utility man Matt Clark to a minor league deal. Clark spent last season with the Chunichi Dragons in Japan and before that played in the Padres organization, where he hit .282/.359/.494 over 5 seasons.

Keith Law released his Mets Top 10 prospect list and Toby Hyde also provided Law's 11-15th prospects.

Should Eric Young Jr hit leadoff and play instead of Juan Lagares? Eh.

Dan Haefeli at Rising Apple wrote about outfield prospect Kyle Johnson, who may be a sleeper. The Mets acquired Johnson from the Angels for Collin Cowgill last season.

The Rays and A's both invested money in their bullpens this winter, so is there an inefficiency they're exploiting there or just are the two teams just shoring up areas on their teams that can be improved?

Is Mike Trout just a four tool player?

The Cubs added starting pitchers Jason Hammel and James McDonald, giving Hammel a one year deal and McDonald a minor league contract.

Carlos Beltran's Long Island mansion is under contract and you can view pictures of it! That mural is pretty awesome.

Yesterday At AA

Matthew Callan wrote about Fred Wilpon's remarks that he didn't make about the payroll caps they never had.
