Your polar vortex filled, Tuesday morning dose of New York Mets and MLB news, notes, and links.

Meet the Mets

Mets assistant general manager John Ricco suggests that the Mets might still pursue more starting pitching. With Jenrry Mejia and John Lannan coming off injuries, it's certainly understandable why.

Ricco also assured the media that the retention of Omar Quintanilla doesn't mean the Mets are done searching for shortstop help.

Sandy Alderson suggested that Lucas Duda may get another crack at the outfield. This is obviously the news we've been waiting to hear all offseason, as Duda will prove to be a splendid addition to a Mets outfield that's projected to be excellent defensively.

Duda was also in the news as he and the Mets are still a ways away from an arbitration agreement.

Wilmer Flores was rated the tenth-best second base prospect by MLB.com.
