The soon-to-be 28-year-old and New York have come to terms.

Continuing their trend of signing contracts with their arbitration-eligible players, the Mets signed Dillon Gee to a one-year, $3.625 million contract, per Adam Rubin. Gee will turn 28 years old in April and is coming off a season in which he had a 3.62 ERA and 4.00 FIP over 32 starts.

Of course, Gee's 2013 season got off to a very slow start after he missed the last few months of 2012 because of a blood clot in his pitching shoulder that required surgery. But from his May 30 start against the Yankees through the end of the season, Gee had a very good 2.71 ERA.

Although it wouldn't be surprising to see the Mets eventually trade one of their relatively veteran pitchers, Gee is a key piece of the Mets' 2014 rotation.
