Longtime Padres broadcaster and Hall of Famer Jerry Coleman passed away yesterday at the age of 89. Coleman was a four-time World Series winner with the Yankees, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps, and a broadcaster for 52 years, 40 of them with the Padres. He remains the only major leaguer to fly combat missions in two wars, having done so in World War II and the Korean War.
Lou Whitaker doesn't endorse Jack Morris' candidacy for the Hall of Fame, while coming with the caveat, "If Jack deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, Alan Trammell deserves to be in the Hall of Fame."
